This lets us dock and organize our files within RStudio instead of having a bunch of different windows open (but there are options to pop them out if that is what you prefer). OK, first off: by opening a file, we are seeing the 4th pane of the RStudio console, which here is a text editor. Let’s title it “Testing” and write our name as author, then click OK with the recommended Default Output Format, which is HTML. Let’s do this together:įile -> New File -> RMarkdown… (or alternatively you can click the green plus in the top left -> RMarkdown). It’s super easy to get started with RMarkdown within RStudio.
